Good Morning Pleasant Green Members, Friends and Followers:

I thank God for the time you are setting aside to spend with Him in this "Kingdom Kulture" Series.

The Bible teaches that the Kingdom of God is both a present spiritual reality and a future literal kingdom. It is not confined to one geographical location today, but it will one day be visibly established when Christ returns.

Here is the Key Biblical Truth:

  1. The Kingdom of God is within (or among) believers today:

 

When the Pharisees asked Jesus where the Kingdom was, he answered:

"The Kingdom of God does not come with observation.... for, the Kingdom of God is in your midst (or within you)" … St. Luke 17:20-21 … And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus was teaching that God's reign had arrived in his own person. Wherever Christ is King in a person, the Kingdom is present.

2. The Kingdom is wherever God's rule is obeyed:

Jesus taught us to pray: "Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in

St. Matthew 6:10 heaven." …

The Kingdom is manifested wherever God's will is submitted to. It is not merely a place. It is God sovereign rule.

3. The Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy:

Romans 14:17 say's: "For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness

and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Paul explains that the Kingdom is experienced through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in Believers.

4. Jesus is seated in heaven as King now:

After his Resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven and reigns at the Father's right hand.

  • Ephesians 1:20-22

  • Hebrews 1:3

  • Psalms 110:1

 

The Kingdom presently has its throne in heaven now; its citizens live on earth representing the King. 5. The Kingdom will one day come visibly to earth:

When Jesus returns, his Kingdom will become a visible, worldwide reality:

  • Revelation 11:15: "The Kingdom of this world have become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ"

  • Daniel 2:44: "The God of heaven will set up a Kingdom, which shall never be destroyed."

 

This is the future fulfillment believers eagerly await.

IN SUMMARY:

1. The Kingdom is in heaven at the seat of God's throne.

2. The Kingdom is among God's people wherever Christ is acknowledged as King.

3. The Kingdom is in believers through the Holy Spirit.

4. The Kingdom is coming to earth and its fullness when Christ Jesus returns.

"The Kingdom of God is not primarily about a location. It is about the sovereign rule and reign of

a King.

Wherever Jesus is acknowledged as Lord, the Kingdom is. When Jesus comes, the Kingdom will be visible to every eye.
